Tomorrow, all St John employees and volunteers will receive an email from the CEO containing a link to the 2022 Culture Survey.
This email follows a campaign by the AEAWA which sought to encourage St John to continue running regular Culture Surveys. Our campaign included the running of our own Culture Survey late last year, after the executive cancelled the planned 2021 survey.
Culture Surveys were designed to address a number of recommendations contained in three external reports into the workplace culture at St John. These reports were the Pheonix Report, the Independent Oversight Panel Report, and the Chief Psychiatrist Review. The intention was to undertake REGULAR surveys to ensure our organisation is a safe and supportive workplace.
These Surveys are a vitally important mechanism to monitor the Culture of our organisation, and will help senior management understand the issues which directly affect you; issues which impact on employee morale and wellbeing. We encourage all our members to try and find the time to complete this survey, as honestly and candidly as possible.
We have been informed by St John that this survey will not ask for ANY identifying information, but as an added precaution, we recommend avoiding adding comments which may lead to identifying yourself or your colleagues.
Finally, we would like to remind our members that one question from the last Culture Survey in 2019 was used to justify the rollout of the Metropolitan Management Model. Therefore, if you are answering general questions about ‘management’ we would encourage you to specify which LEVEL of management you have in mind with your answer.
