Recognition and Profound Respect for Our SCC Colleagues

Some members may not fully appreciate the conditions our colleagues currently face in the State Communications Centre (formerly SOC).
Our SCC members work under incredibly challenging circumstances—often with minimal staffing, an insufficient number of call takers and, like today, just ONE dispatcher. The pressure is relentless.
Yet, they remain the backbone of ambulance operations, coordinating crews with remarkable skill, composure, and dedication—often without the recognition they deserve.
No matter how chaotic things become, their commitment to our community never wavers. The next time you interact with an SCC team member, take a moment to recognise the vital role they play. They endure just as many challenges—if not more—than we do on the road.
To all our SCC members: your work is invaluable, and we are profoundly grateful for your service. Thank you for being the calm voice in a crisis and for your unwavering dedication!
