The Results Are In – Its a NO

By 18 March 2025March 19th, 2025No Comments

The results are in, and they couldn’t be clearer:

The proposed EBA has been REJECTED by an absolutely CRUSHING margin:

  • 987 NO votes (89%)
  • 123 YES votes (11%)
  • With 1,110 of 1,232 eligible members voting (that’s 90% participation!)

Let’s be crystal clear: This isn’t just a rejection – it’s a RESOUNDING STATEMENT from paramedics across WA that we WILL NOT accept substandard agreements that fail to recognise our worth and the critical work we perform.

The participation rate was absolutely unprecedented. The AEAWA negotiators have never before seen this level of participation in any local EBA in history! St John management asked a question, and our members have answered with a deafening NO.

The ball is now firmly in management’s court.

The AEAWA negotiating team will be meeting with St John as soon as possible, and make no mistake – we’re bringing an overwhelming mandate with us to the table. After months of negotiations and patience, our members have spoken loud and clear.

To every member who stood strong and cast their vote: THANK YOU. This level of solidarity shows what happens when paramedics stand shoulder to shoulder.

We’re in this together, and we won’t back down until our members are offered a fair and respectful agreement that you all deserve.

Watch this space for updates. We’ll be in touch soon.
